You can edit your existing products via an Excel spreadsheet. This can be useful if you are making changes to pricing, product names, what modifiers are associated with a product, and other uses.
In order to start, select 'Products' at the top of the screen. Then select the upload button in the top right hand corner, it will look like this:
There will be two options from here. 'Upload New Products' and 'Edit Existing Products.' For this case, select 'Edit Existing Products.' If you are uploading brand new products, you will want to use the following guide instead:
From here, you will want to download your existing product list. You can do so by clicking 'Product List' near the top. It can be found here:
Once selected, it will download an Excel spreadsheet for your current menu. Once downloaded, open up the spreadsheet. it will look like this:
Note: This spreadsheet is only designed to change the cell values. If you delete any rows/columns, or change any column names, it will not be able to upload the changes.
Note: There are only 2 values that CANNOT be changed.
- The identifiers (found in the last column). This is how we identify the product if the name changes.
- Variation Names. This menu cannot create new variations, only change product details. If you need to create or modify variations, you can use the following article:
If you are updating a modifier status for a product, you will want to know what the modifier's name is. All modifier names will appear in the top most rows. Match the product row with the desired modifier column. Write "On" or "Off" to indicate its status. If you need help creating the modifiers, you can use the following link.
Uploading the Changes
After making the changes that you wish, you can use the 'Upload Changes' button found where we downloaded the Product List. Select the file and wait for the upload to process. If the menu is greater than 100 items, it will ask for an email to send confirmation of the changes.
Once the upload is complete, you will receive an email stating it was a success, or if the upload failed. If the upload failed, it will contain an Error Report which will state what went wrong. The errors are found in the column next to the identifiers at the end of the column.
