Introduction: Service Charges replaces the "Automatic Gratuity" feature previously available only to talech Standard & Premium Restaurant accounts with a multi-use feature available to all account types on Standard and Premium service tiers.
Some of the users for the Service Charges Feature are:
- Automatic Gratuity
- Bottle Service Charges
- Delivery Fees
- Online Ordering Convenience Fees
- etc.
To configure Service Charges from talech Register (iPad):
- Login as an admin to talech Register
- Navigate to: Back Office > Settings > Service Charges
- Tap the + on the top right to set up a new service charge
To configure Service Charges from talech.com:
- Login as an admin to talech.com
- Go to Settings > Service Charges
- Tap the + on the top right to set up a new service charge
To configure Service Charges from talech Mobile:
- Sign into talech Mobile
- Go to Settings > Service Charges
- Tap the + on the top right to set up a new service charge

Allows the service charge to be tracked to an employee. (Eg. If service charge is used for Automatic Gratuity; this allows tracking for gratuity for the employee handling the order.) |

If your Service Charge requires Manager/Admin approval to be applied, enable this setting. If Automatic SC and Admin Approval is enabled, deleting the SC will require Admin Pin. |

**If guest count is equal or greater than |
This is used inplace of the former automatic gratuity. Set the number of guest required to trigger the service charge. (Eg: If you charge 18% Gratuity with parties of 8 or more.) |

Choose which order type will automatically trigger a service charge (Eg: If you charge a fixed $5 delivery fee for all order, you would configure the fixed rate to $5 that applies to all orders that are Delivery) |

Set a subtotal that will trigger a service charge when exceeded |
**If order subtotal is less than |
Set a subtotal that will trigger a service charge when below |
**Important note** Service Charges that use a rule where the subtotal is "Greater Than" or "Less than" are interpreted as AND statements.
Example: If you set a Subtotal LESS than $5 AND the Subtotal GREATER than $75; an order subtotal of $50 will not trigger the Service Charge.
