To enable the tip line and suggested tip amounts, settings must be changed from the application.
These settings will look differently once adjusted based on the "Customer Signature" setting applied. For changing the signature setting, you can use the following article.
Note: Tipping is only available for Restaurant and Service accounts.
Showing Tip Line
This is a setting that will only be affected when either "Sign on Paper" option is selected. If you are using "Sign on Device" no change will be made. To enable this setting:
1. From the register, go to Dashboard > Back Office > Settings.
2. Make sure "General" is selected on the left > Scroll to the sub-section "Receipt."
3. Turn on "Show Tip Line on Credit Card Receipt." If the slider is blue, it is enabled.
Now the merchant/custom printed copies will have a tip line to sign on.
Suggested Tip Amounts
This setting will affect both "Sign on Paper" options and "Sign on Device" options.
For "Sign on Device," the suggested tip amounts will appear on the signature screen. For both "Sign on Paper" options, it will print under the tip line. To turn on this setting:
1. From the register, go to Dashboard > Back Office > Settings.
2. Make sure "General" is selected on the left > Scroll to the sub-section "Signature and Tips."
3. Select the setting "Suggested Tip Amounts"
4. Turn on the option "Show Suggested Tip Amounts." If the Slider is blue, the setting has been enabled.
5. Enter all necessary information. The fields to fill are:
- Tip Type: Choose between percentage or a specific dollar amount.
- Suggested Tip Options: Change the default percentages or dollar amounts. Tap on the value and enter what you wish.
- Default Tip Selection (only affects Sign on Device) : This will dictate what is pre selected on the signature screen.
Now the suggested tip amount will be enabled.
