At a minimum all that is required to print barcodes is a desktop computer printer and the supported barcode label printer. We recommend a Laser printer for the fine print. There are links to purchase the type of paper at the end of this article. Click below to jump directly to the supported paper:
Supported Barcode Label Paper
For information on printing barcodes from the talech Register application, please see the article Printing Barcodes on the Epson TM-L90
Step 1: To begin, start by selecting "Products" at the top of the screen. Then select the "Barcode" button in the top right hand corner.
Step 2: Select the products you want to print barcodes for by selecting the open box next to each product name. if you need to print barcodes for all of your products, then select the empty box next to "Category."
Notes:
- If your product does not already have a barcode number assigned, we will automatically create the barcode for you. The barcode will be in the following format TNXXXXXX.
- If your product's barcode number is not in UPC format and is longer than 8 characters, the barcode number will be too large to fit on the label. We will ask you if you want us to assign a new one to that product.
- We are able to reprint UPC barcodes as long as they are 8 or 12 digits in length.
- If you assign new barcodes to a product you will need to complete a full store log out on the Register application. Once logged back in, all barcode changes will take effect.
- Press the Blue Arrow in the top right to progress.
Step 3: Confirm the products and the quantities you want to print labels for. You can adjust the quantity of the how many barcodes you want to print out for each product. For instance, if you have a product that has 10 in stock, but you only want to print 5 barcodes, enter the value 5.
- Press the Blue Arrow in the top right to progress.
Step 4: Select the option you wish to print. The options are:
- Light - Barcode only
- With name - Barcode, name, and price
- With item - Barcode, item number, and price
- Jewelry - Barcode only
Once selected, a PDF will download. Open the PDF and you can now print the barcodes.
