Click here to get an overview of the different types of modifiers
There are three types of modifiers:
1. Variations can be used to create a product with different price points such as a drink with 3 different sizes or a shirt with 3 colors and 4 sizes. This is mainly used for Retail Businesses.
2. Add-ons are useful if you want to apply modifiers such as toppings, sides or cooking temperature for your menu items.
3. Exclusions are similar to add-ons. Exclusions add a NO in front of the modifier on the kitchen ticket. They are used to inform the kitchen staff to exclude certain ingredients from an item such as peanuts or onion.
Creating a modifier:
Step 1 : To create a modifier, click on products tab on top and then Modifiers on the side.
Step 2 : Then hit the "+" button to add a new modifier.
Step 3 : Next select the type of modifier you wish to add. As a restaurant, you will want to choose from either Add-On or Exclusion.
Step 4 : Add-On Modifier allows you to add extra items onto an item and you can add an additional charge for each option if you choose and limit the maximum number of add ons. EX: Add Bacon for $2.00 more.
Or select Exclusion as your modifier to remove ingredients from your item. EX: No ONIONS
Step 5 : Next click on the product to apply this modifier and then click on the Add-Ons & Exclusions tab at the bottom of that item.
Step 6 : Then find the modifier you wish to add to that item and select it by placing a check next to the box and saving that item.
