The register screen can be set to display a default register view for items, categories or tags based on the option you choose. You can also set a default App view which determines what a User sees when first signing into the account. Note: If you have multiple iPads, this can be set per device. You'll be able to set this from the "Settings" area on the side menu. To set "Categories" as the default for example, select the following :
Step 1 : From the main Register, tap on “Dashboard” ⇨ “Back Office” ⇨ “Settings”.
Step 2 : From "Settings", make sure "General" is selected and tap on "Default View".
Step 3 : The default App view can be set to "Dashboard", "Register" , "Table Layout" or "Orders". Restaurants may want to set the App view to "Table Layout" (available with Premium service) so Users who sign in start off seeing tables to assign to guests.
Step 4 : The default register view can be set to "Products", "Categories" or "Tags". Note: The default view can be set per device. A 2nd or 3rd iPad can have different default views selected. This sets "Categories" as the view.
This will set the register to start with categories whenever you return to the main register screen.
