The article below provides instructions on How to Create a Discount, provides details on the types of Discounts that can be applied as well as Creating Custom Discounts.
Creating a Discount:
From talech register app:
Step 1: From talech Register, Go to Dashboard > Back Office > Menu > Discounts (at the top).
Step 2: Press the + in the top right corner. A New Discount screen will appear.
Step 3: Enter the discount name, and any other details required.
Step 4: Once done filling out necessary information, press the save button in the top right corner.

Step 1: After logging in, click on Products (along the top) > Discounts (on the left).
Step 2: Press the blue + in the top right corner. A New Discount screen will appear.

Step 4: Once done filling out necessary information, press the save button in the top right corner. It will look like a folder with an arrow pointing down.
Types of Discounts:
There are 5 types of discounts that are available.
% off entire purchase | This will take a percentage off of every applicable item |
$ off per item | This will take a dollar off of the applicable item selected |
$ off entire purchase | This will take a dollar off of the entire order |
Fixed Price | This will reduce the price of each item applied to the specified amount |
Buy X get Y (Premium required) |
This will reduce the price of Y item after X has been met. For more info on Buy X get Y please visit the following article. |
Once you have selected the discount type you want to use, you can proceed to setting up the additional options such as setting up what products the discount will have an affect on. Each option is listed below with an explanation for each as well.
Additional Settings
Applied to Categories | Apply discount to any item within the specified categories |
Applied to Tags | Apply discount to any item within the specified tags |
Color | Choose color of register tile |
Item Limit Per Order (Premium Only) | Limit the number of items to which this discount applies in a single order. Cannot be combined with Apply to Variable Bundle Constituents Only. |
NEW: Discount Code |
Create a Discount Code for discounts that can be redeemed online. Note: Discount Code Criteria's

Applied to Channel | Choose whether to apply discount to orders in-store, online, or both |
Apply to Variable Bundle Constituents Only | Discount will apply only to items within a variable-priced bundle |
Require Admin Approval | Require an employee with Store Manager privileges to authorize a discount |
Automatic Discount | Automatically apply discount to order within specified time range |
Custom Discounts (Line item discounts)
Customer discounts can be applied on an individual product. They are discounts that can be used without having to create a discount tile.
Step by Step Instructions:
Step 1: Add an item to an open order
Step 2: On the right, tap on the item you wish to discount. An pop-up screen will appear like this:
Step 3: Tap the discount type. The $ will take a certain dollar amount off the item. The % will take a certain percentage off of the item.
Step 4: Enter the discount value, press save and the line item will have the discounted price.
