Overview: Credit Card issuers and Merchants are working together to provide new ways to combat fraud, and chip and PIN technology are one of the most important developments to come along in years.
Chip credit card technology, also known as EMV, helps reduce the risk of fraud during card-present transactions.
If a Merchant is using an EMV debit card and the merchant has their signature option to sign on paper then talech will not prompt to add a tip at the time of the transaction. Because of this, the Merchant will NOT be able to later adjust the tip on the settlement screen.
If the merchant is able to switch their signature setting to sign on device then talech will prompt to add a tip to the transaction before the pin is entered; allowing debit customers to leave tips.
How to Enable Sign-On Device:
Step 1: Go to talech register and select Back Office
Step 2: Ensure you are in the General section and go to the Signature and Tips Section
Step 3: Enable Customer Signature
talech will prompt to add a tip to the transaction before the pin is entered, allowing the debit customers to leave a tip.
