iOS 9 End of Development
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a great talech Register experience that is secure and stable, we will be retiring Future Product and Feature Development for Apple iOS 9.
As of September 2020, talech's minimum requirement for ongoing version updates is iOS 10 or higher.
If you use devices that cannot upgrade beyond iOS 9, you will be able to continue to use talech app version 5.1, but be aware that no updates and fixes will be produced for those anymore.
For your security as well as optimal experience with your talech POS, we strongly encourage transitioning to devices that can run iOS 10 and higher (most current being iOS 13). This will allow you to take advantage of talech's ongoing feature release version enhancements.
How to Check iOS Version |
This section will guide you through step by step instructions on How to Check your iOS Version. You can find what version of iOS is on your iPad by visiting the iPads about settings.
To find the about settings:
My iPad has iOS 9 or belowIf your iPad is on an iOS 9 or below, we recommend that you first check for updates to see if you can update to version 10 or above. Note: Updating your iPad's iOS version may take 30 minutes or more. To avoid any downtime from using your register, we recommend that you only perform updates outside of business hours.

If you are experiencing issues with updating your iPads follow the link provided." If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won’t update" My iPad cannot upgrade to iOS 10 or higher:Note: If your iPad cannot update to iOS 10 or higher, you will NOT lose access to your talech register. |
In talech Application Notifications |
This section will show how Notifications will be displayed via talech Application.
The talech register will display a "⚠️" symbol next to the installed talech version indicating that you’re iPad is on the highest supported talech version for your iPad.
There is also an in App Notification that will display when the merchant attempts to update the app through the Back Office > Help Settings. |
